About the role: Strategic Marketing & Data Management internship in a B2B Consultancy Start-up. This internship / Consultancy assignmentis designed for a proactive student eager to gain hands-on experience in B2B marketing for a Business Consulting firm, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and business development.

Internship Objectives:

This internship opportunity is tailored for an enthusiastic student who is keen to acquire practical experience in B2B marketing & data collection, emphasizing data-driven decision-making and business development. The main goal is to develop a comprehensive marketing and business development framework to increase visibility, attract clients, and build a freelancer database aligned with client demands.   

Key Tasks and Responsibilities: 

1. Drafting a Marketing Plan

  • Analyze the company's current market positioning and marketing efforts. 

  • Propose a 6–12month marketing strategy tailored to the Benelux market, focusing on B2B consultancy. Include goals, target audience profiles, key marketing channels, and campaigns. 

  • Align the plan with the company's core services (strategy, execution, bid management). 

  • Develop a detailed implementation timeline and set measurable KPIs to track success.

2. Market Analysis & Data Gathering; Conduct a market analysis to identify:

  • Potential client companies (medium to large corporations and government organizations). 

  • Industry sectors with high demand for consultancy services. 

  • Create profiles for each lead, including industry, size, challenges, and decision-makers. 

  • Use public databases, LinkedIn, and other resources to identify potential leads.

3. Choosing Marketing and Engagement Tooling

  • Research and recommend tools for: 

    -Marketing automation (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp) 

    -Data analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush)

    -Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for client and freelancer databases (e.g., Zoho, Salesforce). 

    -Set up and test selected tools for ease of use and alignment with company needs. 

4. Building a Freelancer Database

  • Research potential freelance consultants in the Benelux market with expertise in: 

    -Strategy consulting 

    -Execution/project management/IT Managemento Bid management/tender processes 

  • Collect data on freelancers, including: 

    -Experience and industry expertise 

    -Skills and certifications 

    -Availability and geographic preferences 

  • Design and populate a searchable database (e.g., using for instance Excel, or CRM software) to match freelancers with potential client needs.

5. Digital Marketing Optimization:

  • Perform a keyword analysis to improve the company's SEO performance and website traffic. 

  • Develop engaging content ideas for LinkedIn posts, blogs, and newsletters targeting C-suite executives and decision-makers. 

  • Create a lead generation campaign using email marketing or social media outreach, focusing on value propositions unique to the company. 

Expected Deliverables:

i. A detailed marketing plan, including: 

 a. Target audience analysis 

 b. Recommended marketing activities and channels 

 c. KPIs for tracking effectiveness 

 ii. A market analysis report identifying potential clients and sectors. 

 iii. A populated freelancer database organized by skillsets and availability. 

iv. A report on selected marketing, CRM, and data analysis tools, including implementation guidelines. 

v. A mini campaign (e.g., LinkedIn posts or email templates) to attract clients and freelancers. 


Skills and Tools that You'll learn:

By the conclusion of the internship, the student will gain hands-on experience in developing and executing a marketing framework for a B2B start-up, performing market analysis, and utilizing tools to enhance engagement and performance. This experience will equip them for future positions in marketing, business development, or consultancy. 

• B2B marketing strategies and execution

 • Data analysis and market research techniques 

• SEO and digital marketing best practices 

• CRM systems and marketing tools implementation,integration with tooling like HubSpot / Vimeo / Sitebuilder

• Building databases and improving operational efficiency 


Candidate Profile:

  • Background in marketing, business administration, or data analytics. 

  • Interest in the consultancy industry and B2B markets. 

  •  Familiarity with tools like Excel, Google Analytics, or CRM software is a plus. 

  •  Strong communication and organizational skills. 

  •  Strongly self-driven individual with ability to work independently 

Supervision and Support:

This assignment will primarily take place remotely, with support available at any time. We uphold an open-door policy, even in a hybrid work environment. Weekly check-ins will help maintain alignment, and training sessions will be offered for onboarding tools and campaign management.
